Dolphin Diaries - May 4th, 2023

Aloha!

I am always surprised whenever I go out on the Dolphins and You tour. As we boarded the ship and headed out in search of the spinner dolphins, I noticed that the weather, while sunny, was windy too. I wondered if this would affect us from snorkeling, but the swell was completely fine! In fact, we saw a lot of wildlife as we cruised along the blue waters!

As we were cruising along in search of dolphins, there was a green sea turtle that pulled up next to our boat! The guests all got their phones and cameras out and were snapping away as the turtle was hanging out on the surface. However, the hype didn’t end there! Our boat encountered a bottlenose dolphin pod! We don’t normally encounter these species of dolphins in this shallow water, but it was a special treat to be part of! Along with that, we saw multiple turtles when we went snorkeling too!

As the tour was coming to a close, we performed our special hula dance for our guests. We could tell how much enjoyed it and even invited them to the “dance floor” to learn how to hula. Everyone was grinning and laughing ear-to-ear as they all tried to keep up with Jeremy and Yogi! What a great day in this beautiful paradise we call Hawaii!
